Inter-agency council on homelessness / SUPPORT / Sen. Lee Harris / Rep. Jason Powell

This bill (SB1083 / HB641) establishes an interagency council on homelessness, composed of members appointed by the governor, for the purpose of addressing the issue of homelessness in the state. Provides that the responsibilities of the council shall include surveying current resources for services provided to individuals facing homelessness, and coordinating with state, local and private entities to provide such individuals with information on services available to assist them. This legislation was well intended but some more investigation needs to be done. Many of our cities have good problems in play already.
